Stick Tomato
Latin Name:
Solanum lycopersicum StickA very unique and interesting tomato plant with very special growth. Its most obvious difference with all other tomato plants is that its vine’s leaves develop into tight clusters resembling pom-poms. Produces round, red firm tomatoes. The branches get heavy when the plant sets fruit and will fall over without staking.
Developed by Paul Young at the Tomato Disease Laboratory in Jacksonville (Texas, USA). The name of the variety was Curl at that time. In 1958, the variety was introduced by Gleckler Seedsmen (Ohio, USA) under the name of Stick.
