"Dark Opal" Basil is an attractive plant with dark purple, crinkled foliage and pink flowers. The perfumed scent and medium flavor is good with rice & pasta dishes, and used to flavor oils and vinegars.
Developed by John Scarchuk and Joseph Lent at the University of Connecticut in the 1950s.
